The end of August usually means great news. We’re getting ready for our shows to come back the following month. The bad news for FBI fans is that Season 7 won’t premiere in September 2024.
This is nothing to do with strike action or other filming delays. Nor is the show being held for the midseason. CBS has opted to change up the schedule, and while we don’t know why, we’re just having to wait another month for FBI Season 7 to premiere.
At least we have a premiere date. And hopefully, we’ll have a lot more information about the series by the end of September!
FBI Season 7 premiere date confirmed for October 2024
In some good news, CBS has confirmed the premiere dates for the fall schedule, and FBI is back. The show will premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 15, with the episode airing at 8 p.m. ET/PT. This is a night of FBI premieres as both Most Wanted and International are back on the same night.
It is a little later than we’re used to. In some good news, it does look like we’ll get a full 22-episode season. However, we won’t see all characters in all episodes. CBS already confirmed that this show would follow a similar approach to other Dick Wolf shows on NBC, where some characters will miss two or three episodes a season as a way to keep the costs down.
What to expect in FBI Season 7
The seventh season is going to bring some change. Just recently, the series confirmed that Katherine Renee Kane was leaving. She will be in at least one episode, offering Tiffany an exit storyline at least. Could this be trauma from everything that happened to Hobbs, or will her shot be viewed as “not good” after all?
Lisette Olivera will come into the series as Syd, a BAU agent. She’ll be a series regular, so it sounds like she is replacing Kane.
Other than that, there’s little known about the upcoming season. There are a few storylines we hope to see play out, including some sort of pickup about Jubal’s drinking.
