While there aren’t as many new shows heading to broadcast networks in fall 2024 as usual, there are some that we’re excited about. High Potential is one of them, and now we have a premiere date.

ABC had already confirmed that this crime series with a twist would head to our screens in the fall. The question was how long into the fall we would have to wait. As NBC opted for late September and early October premiere dates, we started to question whether ABC would do the same.

High Potential series premiere date confirmed

The good news is we don’t have to wait as long as we do for other shows. High Potential will premiere on ABC on Tuesday, Sept. 17. It will air at 10 p.m. ET/PT, following a two-hour episode of Dancing with the Stars.

As a reminder, other Tuesday dramas that we watched in the 2023–2024 season are being held for the midseason. This is going to be a good thing for The Rookie and Will Trent as there won’t be breaks in the schedule.

What is High Potential about?

The new series follows a single mom and cleaning lady. When she realizes that some evidence is in the wrong order, she puts it all together and solves the crime. It turns out that this was unsolvable by everyone else in the police department.

The police realize that she has a high IQ, which means that she is able to work things out that others can’t. Rather than waste that gift, they decide to call her in to help with other cases. It’s time to prove that training isn’t everything when it comes to solving crimes.

The series is one of three new shows heading to ABC this fall, and it’s the only crime drama on the list.
