Law & Order: SVU is back with a new episode as Benson tries to help a past victim while tracking a serial killer who seems to be doing a public service. Check out a preview here.
Law & Order: SVU took off the week on Thursday, March 7 due to NBC’s coverage of the State of the Union address. It was a short break, as the show returns on Thursday, March 14 with a bold new episode.
The SVU squad has gotten used to changes, such as FBI agent Shannah Sykes joining up in an advisor role and Benson finally finding closure by rescuing kidnap victim Maddie. Yet the new episode looks to put the team in a tough case.
Law & Order: SVU 25x07 promo
The promo for “Probability of Doom” has a standard case of someone owning child porn taking a turn when the victim is killed. As other deaths stack up, the squad realizes they’re dealing with someone hunting child molesters.
It’s an intriguing turn as Fin will no doubt crack on someone doing a public service, but it’s still murder and Benson will want to stop it from getting any worse. That should push some tension on the case.
Law & Order: SVU 25x07 synopsis
The synopsis for the episode details more on the case as it’s a wife forced to turn in her husband for owning child porn, only for the murder to kick things up. Sykes is likely to aid more with the case using FBI resources, proving her worth to the team.
The synopsis also talks about Benson trying to reach out to a past victim who’s likely Maddie. The girl was obviously traumatized by her abduction and Benson will want to make sure she’s okay. However, Maddie may be reluctant to help and Benson questions if this is really about the girl or herself.
So Law & Order: SVU is making up for the brief break, with another episode promising some twists and emotion for this historic year.
"When a woman turns her husband in for possessing child pornography, the case is complicated by a sudden death. Benson tries to reconnect with a victim she saved."
Law & Order: SVU Season 25 airs Thursdays at 9/8c on NBC and streams the following day on Peacock.
