Melanie confirms the theory we had about Alex's dad in Snowpiercer

From the minute Nima was introduced in Snowpiercer, we all had the same theory. He was Alex’s dad.

Caution: This post contains spoilers for Snowpiercer Season 4, Episode 9.

The synopsis told us that Melanie would tell Alex about her paternity. It turns out all theories were right. Nima is Alex’s biological father. It really wasn’t a huge secret once he was introduced, but this was the first change Melanie really had to tell her daughter this.

Nima isn’t a dad but a sperm donor in Snowpiercer

Melanie didn’t quite say that Nima is Alex’s dad, though. She shared that Nima was the donor.

Melanie and Nima were good friends. When Melanie knew Nima, she knew him as a very different man who wanted to save the world. He would fight against big corporations because of their financial greed, and that was the man Melanie hoped Nima still was. It turns out that he isn’t.

However, back in the day, Melanie was ready to be a mom. Nima was happy to be a sperm donor, but he wanted to remain anonymous. With everything that was going on in New Eden and Nima’s need to “save” the world, Melanie decided that he couldn’t stay anonymous anymore.

When Alex went to check the story with Nima, she heard something similar. However, Nima shared that Alex got her brains from him. That is something he is proud of.

Can Alex and Melanie save the world from Nima in Snowpiercer?

Fortunately, Alex isn’t going to be manipulated. She isn’t going to let Nima destroy the world. After hearing that Melanie believes that Gemini will end the world completely, she wants to do everything she can to prevent Nima from releasing the chemical.

It’s not going to be easy, though. Melanie and Alex have had to pretend that they want what Nima does. That was the only way to save New Eden and work on preventing Gemini from burning out all the oxygen in the world.

We ended the penultimate episode with Melanie and Alex sneaking to the bottom of the train to head back to Layton and co. to help with the fight against Nima and his Animal Squad.
