There is a huge risk to New Eden in Snowpiercer Season 4. At first glance it seems to be the Animal Squad, but Alex pointed out something much more serious.
Caution: This post contains spoiler for Snowpiercer Season 4, Episode 3.
The third episode brought us storylines both in New Eden and on Snowpiercer. They are starting to combine as well. The Animal Squad is up to something, and Ben and Till want to figure out what that is. Meanwhile, Layton needs to get Liana back from the Animal Squad.
New Eden is at risk in other ways, though. The first is Layton and his team taking Big Alice. While Javi found a way to retrofit a few things to give New Eden time, it’s only for three weeks. Big Alice has to be back by then. That’s not the biggest risk, though.
Alex’s nosebleeds mean something in Snowpiercer
We knew that Alex’s nosebleeds were something more serious. When her dove returned dead in the episode, it wasn’t from freezing or some sort of cold damage. This bird has lost all of its blood.
Alex points out that the bird flew out to the edge of the pocket of warmth. She expected this, and she expected to find out that the bird had frozen to death. She didn’t expect to see the bird had no blood, but it does start to make sense. There’s something going on that’s leading to her getting nosebleeds, and she thinks that it could be linked to the edge of the pockets.
Are the edges closing in on New Eden? Alex pointed out that they’re in a bubble, and bubbles burst. Javi is shocked to hear this. Is it possible that they only have a limited time in New Eden before the place freezes again? That certainly seems to be the worry for the scientist and the engineer, and now Alex is heading out on Big Alice to do more research.
This is definitely a bigger risk than the Animal Squad. There is nothing the people of New Eden can do about this in Snowpiercer.
