Eyes are on the 2024–2025 TV schedule. We know the summer break is coming, and we’re excited to get full seasons of our favorite shows back. Now we need to know what we can expect.

We’re taking a look at NBC’s plan for the next season. There have been a fair few renewals of scripted crime dramas so far, but there is one show surprising not renewed just yet.

We’ll also take a brief look at the pilots that are in the works and shows that could air in 2024. This is actually a short list, especially compared to CBS!

Which crime shows are back on NBC in fall 2024?

We know that most of the crime dramas on NBC are coming back for another season. That’s not surprising when you look at the live ratings. Wednesdays and Thursdays are strong with the Dick Wolf line-up.

We know the following shows will be back:

Found
The Irrational
Chicago PD
Law & Order
Law & Order: SVU

Law & Order: Organized Crime is the only Dick Wolf show not renewed. Yet. There is still a chance, although current suggestions are that it could move to Peacock instead of remaining on the broadcast network.

While not a crime drama, Night Court is worthy of a mention. This isn’t renewed yet, but it’s looking likely. The comedy continues to perform well in the linear ratings, and it brought in fans of the original comedy series and those just learning about it now.

A new crime series ordered as a pilot

NBC hasn’t ordered many pilots just yet. In fact, there are a lot of networks not looking at pilots all that much this year. This is likely linked to the high costs of producing new shows. Keeping older shows that may be lower in the linear ratings are cheaper than setting up new shows.

However, NBC has given a pilot order to Grosse Point Garden Society. This series will follow a suburban garden club that ends up caught up in a murder. All they want is to make their gardens bloom, but they’ll need to figure out who they can trust at the same time.

Deadline also reports that The Hunting Room has been ordered to series. This and Grosse Point Garden Society originally had writers rooms set up in 2023, but the strike action is linked to a delay and now the pilots are getting ordered slowly.

The Hunting Party will revolve around a small team of investigators who need to track down some of the most dangerous killers around the country. These killers have just escaped from a top-secret prison that “doesn’t exist.” It certainly suits the likes of Found, but we’ll keep an eye on whether it will happen. It’s not been given a pilot order just yet.
