Can you believe we’re at 1000th episodes of the NCIS universe? This takes in all of the episodes ever aired within the universe, and it’s a huge moment. In fact, it’s so huge that we’ll see faces from other shows return.
The 1000th episode will air during an episode of the flagship series, NCIS. That makes it even more special as that the series that kicked it all off. We’re hoping that there will be a few more surprises thrown in, but CBS has made it clear that this is a big episode to tune in for.
Who will return from other NCIS shows?
While it is part of the flagship series, we will see some crossover elements to the episode. NCIS: Hawaii star Vanessa Lachey will show up during the episode. Considering Jane Tennant’s connection to Torres and the fact that Hawaii is still going and airs after NCIS, this decision isn’t all that surprising.
We will see an NCIS: Los Angeles character show up, as well. And it’s not LL Cool J’s Sam Hana, who is currently in NCIS: Hawaii. Despite Los Angeles ending with its 14th season, the series is still dear to our hearts. Daniela Ruah, who has also jumped behind the scenes for the series, is coming back. This time, she will reprise her role as Special Agent Kensi Blye. Considering LA ended with her pregnant, we’re excited to see what’s going on for her in the world of crime solving now.
A character recast in NCISverse Episode 1000
There is a character returning but with a new face. NCIS Director Leon Vance’s son, Jared Vance, is coming back for the episode. We met him in Season 6, played by Khamani Griffin.
However, Griffin isn’t coming back. TVLine confirmed that Spence Moore II will take on the role instead.
It’s not the first time Jared has been recast. Between Seasons 9 and 11, he was played by Akinsola Aribo.
Recasting is usually due to actor availability or the way an actor has or hasn’t aged in time for the series to bring a character back.
The 1000th episode of the NCISverse will air on Monday, April 15 at 9/8c on CBS.
