Sunday nights are all about CBS dramas. Tracker has been an excellent addition to the lineup, but there’s some bad news tonight, Sunday, May 26. There isn’t a new episode on tonight.

There won’t be a new episode on for a while. The series aired its season finale last Sunday, and now we’re into the summer break. The good news is that it’s only a summer break. Tracker Season 2 is happening, and CBS is so happy with the show’s performance this year that it’s going to premiere in the fall.

There are a lot of questions about the second season. One of those is whether we’ll see Colter’s siblings again. Jensen Ackles and Melissa Roxburgh would love to return, and they would love to work together to bring all three Shaw siblings to our screens. Can schedules align to make it happen?

When will Tracker Season 2 premiere on CBS?

This series did get an excellent start. The premiere aired straight after the Super Bowl, making it clear that CBS knew this was a series viewers would want to watch. With a strong start, it wasn’t surprising to see people constantly tuning in on Sundays, even dealing with the changing timeslots—this was clearly a test to see if the show could perform at the start of the night.

There is a timeslot move for the series, and this is a great thing. The show will now be the first on Sunday nights, airing straight after the football/8 p.m. ET/PT in the fall. The Equalizer will now take the later hour. This makes it clear that CBS is happy with the show’s performance, and is confident that it will keep pulling viewers in during the football season when Sunday shows are often pre-empted.

We don’t have a premiere date for the series just yet. That’s not too surprising since it’s only May. This is when the schedule is announced, and the premiere dates are announced in late June or by early July at the latest. We’re expecting a September start date; October at the latest.
