We’re ready to see more of Colter Shaw in action. The bad news is we won’t get to see that in new episodes of Tracker in June 2024.
That’s okay; we’re used to summer breaks. Even though Tracker is a new series, everyone who is used to broadcast TV knows that summer breaks are a thing. People go away, and the broadcast networks don’t want to risk the show due to the lower linear ratings.
So, eyes are now on when the show will return. Will CBS keep this as a midseason series, or will we get it back in the fall? There is some great news.
Tracker is on the move but it will be back in the fall
CBS announced the fall schedule, and there is some great news for Tracker fans. The series is on the move in a good way. It remains on Sundays, but it will now take the first timeslot of the night. New episodes will air straight after the afternoon football games, which usually means an 8 :30 p.m. ET/PT start. When there are no games to pre-empt the show, it will air at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
There isn’t a set premiere date just yet. We tend to see the Sunday shows return in early October on CBS. This allows for a couple of weeks of football. It means Tracker Season 2 is likely to premiere around Sunday, Oct. 6. It could be held an extra week, but we’ll keep an eye on what CBS decides. The premiere dates are usually announced in July.
What can we expect to see? Tracker will keep the reward of the week storyline for Colter, but there is sure to be more of the overarching storyline of what happened to his father. Colter still didn’t get full answers, but it looks like he’s willing to listen to his brother Russell that he had nothing to do with it.
Melissa Roxburgh and Jensen Ackles would love to return to the series. It would be great to see a Shaw family reunion now that the siblings have been introduced. And yes, we would love more Supernatural Easter eggs throughout! Maybe some Manifest ones can be thrown in there, too.
