The Night Agent boss has some great news about Season 2
Initial thoughts were that The Night Agent Season 2 would arrive in 2024. The strikes seemed to push it all back, but there is an exciting update.
The Night Agent showrunner, Shawn Ryan, shared with TVLine that filming is complete. In even better news, the editing is done. Doesn’t that mean that the series is ready to come out?
The Night Agent still has some post-production work to complete
Ryan made it clear that not everything in the post-production process is done. There is still some VFX, music, and sound to do. This will take some time, but the series is doing well considering it was hindered by the strike action last summer.
"We have finished editing all 10 episodes and are just working on sound, music and VFX. We’re working hard to have the episodes ready for fans as soon as possible!"
However, he didn’t have an update on the release date for the fans. That’s because Netflix hasn’t told him anything yet. It’s not just about when the show is ready but about when it fits into the Netflix schedule.
Could The Night Agent Season 2 arrive in 2024?
There is a slim chance that we could still get the season this year. It would be close to the end of the year, probably in December.
However, this isn’t guaranteed. Netflix did initially confirm that The Night Agent Season 2 would arrive in 2024. This was before the strike action went on for so long, leading to major delays in the production schedule.
It’s more likely that Netflix has reworked some of its 2024 plans. Some of the shows that were going to arrive in fall 2024 may be held for winter or spring 2025. That does seem a little more realistic based on the latest update.
The Night Agent Season 2 cast confirmed
Gabriel Basso and Luciane Buchanan will return for the second season. Meanwhile, Amanda Warren will join the series as Catherine Weaver, a seasoned FBI agent.
