While Revival season 1, episode 6 picks up 20 years into the past, the episode jumps back to the present day pretty quickly. It’s soon clear that Dana’s whole world is in danger.
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for Revival season 1, episode 6.
The episode starts with Em’s birth, as the doctors explain that Em has a brittle bone disorder. This has likely happened due to Patty’s cancer drugs, and it’s the reason Wayne is so protective of his younger daughter. It’s also the reason why Dana is so protective, as she understood the dangers due to being old enough to hear what the doctors were saying.
However, in the present day, it’s Em who gets to protect Dana. It all kicks off when Dana’s family is put at risk.

May Tao wants Dana to listen to her in Revival
At the hospital, May Tao manages to get into the hospital room, with confidential files of Dana’s that she’s managed to grab. May doesn’t trust the police, but she knows that Dana just wants to do the right thing. So, she tells Dana that the Black Deer case didn’t go the way that Dana believes. It wasn’t a botched job, and she’s sure that the shooting is connected to the Black Deer case.
Maybe she is onto something, because it turns out that McCray didn’t shoot Dana. We all knew that he was likely being framed, but who by? Well, the end of the episode allows Dana to figure that one out.
Of all people, Brent was the one behind it. Dana works that out when she sees the blood stain on his arm, because Em had told Dana that she shot the shooter in the arm. There’s a fight that breaks out in the hospital room, with Dana managing to kill Brent, partially thanks to her “pterodactyl” drug.

Dana needs to save Cooper and Em in Revival season 1, episode 6
Why did she need a boost of the drug that pretty much helps her feel no pain? Well, she gets a call from the Check brothers, most specifically Tony. He’s going back on his word from an earlier episode of Revival, now that McCray has been arrested with a bunch of Reviver parts in his trunk.
It turns out that the Check brothers have been running a new business. They’re selling Reviver parts to people, and there’s one poor guy who has no arms or legs because of this. We know that Revivers will heal, but can they grow full limbs back? I don’t think that’s been explored yet.
The brothers need a face for it all, and that leads to them going after Em. To make sure the Check brothers get Dana to help them get over the border, Tony takes Cooper as well. Of course, Dana is going to do everything she can to keep her son safe. She even calls her dad to get him to go to one checkpoint so she can go to the other for the two trucks.
In Dana’s truck, it’s the Reviver with no limbs. That means the second one has Em, but that truck doesn’t get to its point. Remember that Em has superstrength when she gets angry, and she uses that in the truck. Dana does manage to get the location of the Check warehouse, so everyone heads there, including Ramin.

Ramin witnesses something completely supernatural in Revival
While Dana and Em head through the warehouse, unaware that each other is there, Ramin also goes in and finds Jordan wandering around. She manages to break free from her chains, and she is looking for something specific.
That something is also looking for her. There’s a glowing alien-like creature, which Jordan tells Ramin is for her. She touches the creature, and the two of them disappear before Ramin’s eyes.
Meanwhile, inside the warehouse, Tony manages to stab Dana in the stomach. She’s left dying, but Em is able to kill Tony and then rush to her sister. While the alien creature is outside, a glow forms from Em’s hands over Dana’s wound. Is it possible that Em has healing powers due to her Reviver status? What does this turn of events mean for the Revivers?
Revival airs on Thursdays at 10/9c on Syfy.
