There is a lot going on in Sheriff Country already, and we’re just two episodes in. Well, the third episode sets up an arc for Mickey’s personal life.
Sheriff Country season 1 episode 3 will give us another case of the week. I’ll admit that the cases themselves have been the weakest parts of the episode. This doesn’t mean they’re bad, but they’re not the big element that has me tuning in, and that’s actually a great thing for the series. I’m invested in the characters and not just looking at what the crime of the week is.
Who is Mickey sleeping with in Sheriff Country season 1 episode 3?
When we first saw a promo for Sheriff Country, it looked like Mickey and Boone were secretly together, and I really hoped the show wasn’t going to go that route. Well, the promo eases my concerns a little, as the scruff on the face of the man in the shower doesn’t seem to match Boone’s look.
However, it does raise a question about who Mickey is with. This mystery man doesn’t seem to have appeared in the past episodes, so is it just a one-night thing, or has she been sleeping with someone secretly this whole time and now it’s time for the town to find out? This is one judgmental town, so I don’t blame Mickey for wanting to keep her private life out of the gossips’ mouths.
That being said, someone is warning her about the gossips of the town. Mickey can’t afford to become the talk of the town, considering how she still technically needs to be elected as sheriff. Doesn’t she? I don’t think she has yet, even though it seems that the town is behind her after the pilot episode. All we know is that Boone isn’t running against her.
A robbery in broad daylight
Along with all this, the promo and synopsis focus on the case of the week, telling us that there’s a robbery in broad daylight. This robbery involves five guys, and they’re all caught, but Mickey is struggling to figure out what’s going on.
Is someone putting them up to the test to see if Mickey can do her job? Are these out-of-towners looking for a quick buck? It’s not all that clear at the moment, but it’s sure to make the town a little uneasy, with a lot of scrutiny on Mickey.
After all, her daughter is still in the middle of a murder investigation. It’s clear that someone is after the family, although it’s not clear why just yet. There’s no mention of this arc within the promo or synopsis, so it may not be brought up during Sheriff Country season 1 episode 3, but we’ll see.
