Taran Killam very quickly established Ludo as a man Morgan could rely on in High Potential season 2. It was clear he still harbored feelings for her, but he didn’t push them. Instead, he focused on being a good co-parent to his children, including Ava, despite her not being biologically his.
There’s some disappointing news for fans of the series, though, as we may see less of Ludo in High Potential season 2. Killam has a new gig, and it could limit his availability. This could be a good and bad thing at the same time.
Why might Taran Killam not be available as much in High Potential?
Killam has been announced as one of the series regulars for the NBC cheerleading comedy Stumble. This has a straight-to-series order, and it’s supposed to arrive sometime in the fall. While the series wasn’t on the list of fall 2025 premiere dates, it is being targeted as a show to join either St. Denis Medical or Happy’s Place. It’s probably going to be the latter considering Stumble is also a mockumentary style of program.
As a series regular, he’ll be set for all episodes. However, a half-hour comedy takes up less time to film than a hour-long drama, so this could open his schedule up a little to film High Potential season 2.

Will Morgan have to find new childcare in High Potential season 2?
The bad side of things is the story. Right now, Morgan has managed to land a childcare bonus from Soto, and she gives that to Ludo. Of course, they are omitting a few details, as really, as the children’s father, he can’t be paid for childcare. Soto probably knows what Morgan and Ludo are doing, but Morgan is far too valuable for her to care.
But if Killam isn’t around much for the second season, it could derail things. What will Morgan do for childcare? Does this mean we’ll see her bring her baby to work with her more? Of course, the easiest option is just to mention that Ludo is babysitting or that she has a babysitter and we can allude to it being Ludo.
High Potential can avoid the HPI storyline
In the French version of the series, things take a turn between Morgane and her ex Ludo. The two end up getting back together, but it’s not for the right reasons. Yes, he has feelings for her, but Morgane doesn’t have genuine feelings for him. She has feelings for Karadec, and she fears that they won’t be returned, so she turns to a sure thing instead.
This wouldn’t work for the U.S. version of the series. For one, Morgan hasn’t shown signs of having feelings for Karadec just yet. She cares for him, but their relationship is more like a sibling one rather than a love one for now. This could change, but at the moment, I like the way it runs.
Another thing is Morgan and Ludo have a great relationship as it is. Getting them back together when there’s been no romantic chemistry between them would just feel off. The focus right now is on Roman, and he’s the one that could throw a spanner in the works of Morgan and Karadec instead.
High Potential season 2 will premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 10/9c on ABC.
