There are a few new crime dramas that we’re excited to see. One of them is The Hunting Party starring Melissa Roxburgh.
The series was set to arrive at the start of February, but there’s some excellent news. NBC will bring us the series premiere a little earlier than expected, and it gives the series the best chance of success. Make sure you get the earlier date in your diary.
Of course, there are then questions about what it means for the original premiere date. Will that now be the second episode of the series? Here’s what we know.
The Hunting Party will now premiere in January 2025
Rather than waiting until February, we’ll now get the new series this month. It’s actually this weekend! The Hunting Party will debut on Sunday, Jan. 19.
It will air straight after the NFL Divisional Playoff game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the LA Rams. This game is set to kick-off at 3 p.m. ET, and it should finish at around 6 p.m. ET. Of course, we know that football games can go into overtime, and that could mean a delay in getting The Hunting Party.
This is a great thing for the series. Many other networks have seen success in putting a new show on after a big football game. CBS has had the most success, with The Equalizer and Tracker both benefitting from post-Super Bowl slows and Matlock benefitting from a post-NFL slot earlier this TV season.
NBC has arguably struggled with new dramas recently, so it makes sense to give the show an NFL boost. There may be some tuning out for the next playoff game on Sunday night, but there will be many others intrigued by the new series.
The Hunting Party regular schedule
After this, the series will move to the regular planned schedule. The Hunting Party will air a rerun of the series premiere on Monday, Feb. 3. This was the intended date of the premiere, so you don’t need to worry about missing out if you don’t watch on Sunday.
Episodes will then air Mondays at 10/9c.
The series follows a group of government agents and law enforcement personnel looking to capture some dangerous escaped inmates. These inmates are the most dangerous criminals in the world, and they were held at a secret facility. It’s going to be a race against the clock to capture everyone before more harm is done, and all the secrets of the facility are out.
The Hunting Party premieres on Sunday, Jan. 19 at around 6/7c on NBC.
