Rudy and Sarah made an agreement not to discuss the case with each other, and we see why in The Rainmaker season 1, episode 4. Sarah allows an important piece of information to slip out.
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for The Rainmaker season 1, episode 4.
While Rudy and Sarah continue to help their respective sides with the case, Pritcher continues to pose a threat. He has Jackie right now, but that doesn’t mean he has exactly what he wants.

Pritcher gets more and more dangerous in The Rainmaker season 1, episode 4
We get to see how dangerous Pritcher is getting in the new episode. He has Jackie, and he’s not trying to kill her like he’s done with others. Instead, he wants answers from her about why he was fired. Jackie was asking a lot of questions about what happened to Donnie-Ray.
It turns out that Jackie was on something called the Tissue Committee, which looked into why Donnie-Ray died. Jackie had her suspicions about Pritcher’s involvement, but she was the only one to express them. The rest of the committee, which was made up of 11 other nurses and doctors, didn’t think that Pritcher killed Donnie-Ray.
Of course, it’s possible that this was just for show and for the paperwork. After all, Leo is sure that there was murder, and he wants the hospital to settle the way Bruiser wants. The CEO of the hospital wants to take this to court.
Later, as the two are talking, Pritcher realizes that someone is outside. He opens the door and immediately stabs Jane in the stomach. She collapses to the ground, but we do later see that she manages to drive herself to the hospital. Is it in time to save her in The Rainmaker, and what will happen to Pritcher considering she probably shouldn't have been snooping in the first place?

Rudy learns about the Tissue Committee
While Sarah and Rudy talk at Yogi’s, where Rudy is still working part time, their discussion moves onto the case. Of course, Sarah doesn’t want to talk about it, and she initially storms out. When she comes back, she blurts something out about the Tissue Committee, but doesn’t go into more detail.
Rudy takes that information to Deck and Bruiser, and they look into what it could be. As they get a few details, they realize that the other side is withholding potentially relevant information for the case. This is against terms of the court, and so, they have to file a motion to get the information.
Naturally, Leo’s side is going to file a motion to prevent the details from being shared. Well, this is a clear sign that this committee found something that could help Donnie-Ray’s side. The question is whether a judge will see through everything Leo’s firm is doing.
Meanwhile, Sarah makes it clear that she is turning into another corporate law robot. There is no hope for Sarah and Rudy’s relationship at this point. What’s annoying is that the little rich girl who could get ahead in life is the one going with the corporate law firm instead of taking her chances. It shows that money doesn’t buy morals.

The situation with Kelly gets worse in The Rainmaker
The whole point of the initial conversation between Rudy and Sarah was to discuss Kelly. She hasn’t been seen for a while, and her blinds are always closed. Her husband also hasn’t been seen, and Rudy is worried.
He decides to knock on her door, and while she thanks him for turning up, she makes it clear that he can’t come again. Even a few nights later when they meet at the doorway, Kelly thanks him but she can’t stay and chat.
When she gets back home, she calls out for her husband, only for him to not answer. This is her chance to squirrel some money away again, but when she gets to the bathroom, she finds that all her money has gone. Her husband knows all about it, and of course, he’s waiting outside the bathroom door for her. We cut from the episode, knowing that the next time Rudy sees Kelly, it’s surely going to be with a lot of concerning questions.
The Rainmaker airs on Fridays at 10/9c on USA Network.
