January is here, and that usually means that all our favorite crime dramas return. Well, CBS is putting a lot on hold, but that means we have time to check out new offerings from the streamers. There are so many TV crime dramas that we’re excited to see in January 2026.
Of course, the likes of Will Trent and The Hunting Party are at the top of our lists. I don’t think they need mentioning considering how much we’ve talked about them already! However, there are other exciting new additions to streamers, broadcast, and more.
We’ve put together the five TV crime dramas we’re most looking forward to, and they’re in release date order, so you can plan out your schedule.
Run Away
Already on Netflix, the eight-part Harlan Coben series brings us another mystery to unravel. This time, James Nesbitt stars as a father who just wants to know what happened to his daughter when she went missing. However, Paige didn’t just go missing. It seems that she ran away, as she found herself addicted to drugs and trapped with an abusive boyfriend.
When that boyfriend mysteriously turns up dead, suspicions turn to Simon. Did he kill them man to get his daughter back, or is there something else going on? Is there a threat against Paige, or did she finally lash out to protect herself?
Run Away is now available to stream on Netflix.
My Life Is Murder season 5
It honestly felt like My Life Is Murder season 4 was going to be the last with the way the season finale ended, but it was quietly renewed. Now we get the fifth season, and we’re excited to see Alexa Crowe and tech whiz Madison back solving crimes together. Reuben is back as well, and, of course, they’ll work with Detective Harry, because how else do they end up with crimes to solve?
Alexa is looking for a break, though, and she heads to Fiji on holiday. However, things take a dark turn when a familiar foe resurfaces. Along the way, she’s reunited with Jesse, her former police partner who may or may not be the “one who got away.” It’s time for some buried secrets to come up throughout the fifth season.
My Life Is Murder season 5 premieres on Monday, Jan. 5 on Acorn TV.
His & Hers
How about a six-part psychological thriller that is based on a novel by Alice Feeney? Of course, that has you hooked without even knowing much about it, right? His & Hers follows an estranged couple who finds themselves caught up in an Atlanta murder investigation.
Tessa Thompson plays a former news anchor who starts to investigate a local murder, while Jon Bernthal is her detective ex, who is also pulled into the case. Of course, both of them believe each other is guilty of the crime, but who really did it, and what is going on?
His & Hers drops on Thursday, Jan. 8 on Netflix.
Ponies
For those looking for a period crime drama, you’ll want to wait to just a little later into the month. Ponies stars Emilia Clarke and Haley Lu Richardson as two secretaries with CIA operatives for husbands. It’s 1977 in Moscow, and when their husbands turn up dead, there are a lot of questions they have, and they decide it’s time to unravel the conspiracy.
The trailer delves into the story a little more, making it clear that their secretary lives are just a front for the CIA. They are the only two who can get answers about their husband’s deaths for the CIA, but what is knowing the truth hurts more than never understanding what happened?
Ponies drops as a binge-watch on Thursday, Jan. 15 on Peacock.
Memory of a Killer
Finally, we turn to FOX, where we get a new crime thriller that’s based on a movie. Memory of a Killer focuses on an elite hitman who has managed to keep his sordid past from his family. Now he works as a printer, and that’s all his daughter is ever going to know. Well, that is if he can keep his memories.
When he finds out that he’s suffering from early on-set Alzheimer’s, things take a turn. Now his worlds threaten to merge, as he tries to remember who he is. When his enemies find out the truth, they may have a way to take him down that they’ve never had before.
Memory of a Killer gets a special premiere on Sunday, Jan. 24 after the AFC game before moving to Mondays at 9/8c on FOX.
