In the season Unforgotten season 6 finale, Marty gets arrested after he shows up at Juliet's with a hammer. Marty said he wanted to offer Taylor condolences over her dad's death and admitted he had broken into her house. He denied killing Gerry. He gave a detailed account of his movements the day Gerry was killed, which were verified by CCTV, so he was released.

Dot said she tried to kill herself because she felt like a burden and thought Marty would get better help without her. Doreen said they were able to go home together.
Sunny and Jess interviewed Asif about Jamal, the Dowari’s son, who died because of the poor living conditions at Gerry’s flat. Jess tells him they would not charge him with any immigration offenses because Sam took the blame. Asif denied killing Gerry. He said Gerry hit him, and Asif hit him back, but there was no other assault.

Mel's got blood on her hands, but she never murdered Gerry in Unforgotten
Sunny questions Mel about why Gerry’s blood is on her clothes. She said they got into a physical fight. She says she got pregnant by him but had an abortion. Given her editorializing on TV, she admits she is a hypocrite. She said Gerry knew about it and that he blackmailed her, and she agreed to pay him the money, but he never picked it up on the day he was supposed to, so she left for Ireland, but didn’t know he was dead at the time.
Mel resigned from the network. On her last show, she called for the network to air a more balanced platform. Mel goes back to Patrick at the hospital.
The team thinks the license plate of the car that dumped the body near the marsh was tampered with, and it belonged to Juliet. She gets arrested. Juliet said her marriage to Gerry had been broken for many years, but because of Taylor, they stayed together. The night he died, they fought, and he punched the back of her head, so she snapped and punched his leg with the paring knife in her hand.
She locked herself in the bathroom, but he was bleeding badly. She found him on the kitchen floor in a pool of blood. She said she would do whatever it took to protect Taylor. She wrapped him in trash bags, cut him up into six pieces, and dumped him in the marsh. Jess said her timeline was wrong.

Taylor stabbed Gerry to protect Juliet on the night he died
They then interview Taylor in the Unforgotten season 6 finale. She said on the night he died, she saw Gerry beating Juliet severely, and Taylor wanted to stop him, thinking he would kill her mom. Taylor stabbed Gerry, but then went to bed, and Juliet lied to her, saying that Gerry had left for a work meeting but was still alive, after he went missing the next day. Taylor never knew that Gerry had actually died or about Juliet’s disposal of him. Despite Juliet’s unlawful disposal of a body and perverting the course of justice, CPS did not want to prosecute and said it was not in the public interest to charge Taylor.
Hassan is in a detention center. Sam lost his commission for helping Hassan, but he said he took Asif for granted, so Sam asked him to marry him, and Asif said yes.
Leanne and Sunny meet. She said that 24 years earlier, she was in a relationship and left him, but they had a daughter together, whom she also left behind, and she hasn’t seen her since. Sunny said he still wanted to date her.
Steven moves out of Jess’s house to a flat around the corner. Jess sees him with another woman.
