Remember the car accident from the Nancy Drew Episode 7 promo? Well, it happened at the very end of the episode and one of our own may be dead.

There are spoilers in this post from Nancy Drew Season 1, Episode 7.

The Nancy Drew Season 1, Episode 7 promo gave us the hint of another potential death. The car accident Nick saw didn’t happen until the end, and we’re left with the possibility that one of our own is dead.

More from TV Crime Dramas

Nick pulled up to Laura Tandy’s Jeep overturned. Nick immediately noticed Ace’s arm hanging out where one of the firefighters was checking on him. We’re going into the one-week break with questions about the fates of Ace and Laura. There are also plenty of questions about how the accident happened.

There’s plenty of suspicion on Laura when it comes to Tiffany’s murder. After all, Lucy’s ghost made it clear that the person who killed her wasn’t quite the same person who killed Tiffany, but there is some sort of connection. The Hudsons are involved in some way. Did the Hudsons arrange to kill Lucy through one person and hire someone else to kill Tiffany?

Now is someone trying to kill Laura to prevent her from talking? Or is someone trying to kill Ace to stop him from finding out that Laura was involved in her sister’s death?

Ace just collateral damage?

It’s clear that someone has to be involved. I’ve watched enough NCIS to know that coincidences don’t happen. Just as everyone is closing in on Tiffany’s (and Lucy’s) murderer, Laura and Ace are attacked.

But was Ace just collateral damage? Is it possible that somebody wanted Laura dead to prevent her from talking? There’s one way to find out what happened and that’s through Ace’s phone. He had started a recording of the whole conversation. Will whoever caused the accident have taken the phone or is it possible that it’s still in his pocket? There’s a high chance that it got the whole event on record.

I don’t quite think Ace is dead, but he’s going to be in some sort of coma unable to talk right away. I think we’ll see him wake up at the end of the next episode or even the one after that. He’ll then be able to share what happened and share that he made a recording of the whole thing.

Is Laura dead?

We didn’t see any evidence of Laura in the vehicle still. Is it possible that she caused the accident on purpose finding out Ace was recording her? Or maybe she just knows who ran her off the road and they’ve taken her?

Killing Laura off at this point makes little sense from a writing point of view, although it will certainly throw more spanners in the work for the investigation. It would be hard to get answers from another dead woman, especially one who would be a young and confused ghost like Tiffany was.
