As one of the stars of NCIS: New Orleans, Scott Bakula knows what it means to be in the spotlight. But after four decades, he prefers his privacy.

Scott Bakula has been a part of the entertainment industry for a long time. Over the years, he has been a part of some amazing programs, including Quantum Leap, which made him a household name, and Star Trek: Enterprise. But, it is his role as Dwayne Pride in NCIS: New Orleans that really has us loving the actor.

However, even with his long career, Bakula is not a fan of the spotlight. In fact, according to Showbiz Cheatsheet, it seems that the actor much prefers to keep his private life just that, private.

While he has done interviews near his home, he draws the line at letting the media into his home. And considering he has children and a family to think about, it makes sense that he would want to protect his privacy as much as possible.

As part of an interview with CBS, the news correspondent speaking to the actor pointed out that a big part of his success in showbiz is staying out of the tabloids and remaining rather private. And Scott Bakula immediately agreed, while also joking that, “That’s what’s wrong with my career! Actually, you summed it up in one sentence.”

However, I don’t think there is anything wrong with being successful based strictly on one’s talent rather than potential bad behavior. And with Bakula’s ability to play a wide range of characters, he has proven time and time again that he really does have the talent and acting chops to carry a series, much like he does on NCIS: New Orleans.

Even as each of the NCIS shows are as much about the cases they solve and the individual teams that solve those cases, there is always one character who feels like they are at the heart of the series. In this case, it would have to be Scott Bakula’s Dwayne Pride.

As a fan of both Bakula and NCIS: New Orleans, I can appreciate the fact that the actor prefers his privacy. And the fact that he is able to do it, even after all this time, means that he is doing something right when it comes to living life on his own terms.
