New Year’s Resolutions: Nancy Drew needs to solve one of the mysteries
Getting ready for Nancy Drew’s return next week, we’re looking at the New Year’s Resolution the show should make. Nancy needs to solve a mystery.
We’re less than a week away from the new episode of Nancy Drew. We’ll get answers to our many questions after the fall finale. But it also needs to make a few small changes to keep the attention of the viewers.
Nancy Drew opted for a season-long mystery. At least, that’s what it seems to have done. In a way, it has the advantage of two mysteries running concurrently, which is where this New Year’s Resolution comes in.
The show: Nancy Drew
The resolution: Solve one of the mysteries

Why it needs to be made: Mystery shows tend to have one big question that keeps leading the protagonist and her friends throughout the series. Pretty Little Liars had us wondering who A was, while LOST had that big question surrounding where the island was. The problem with one big question is things get boring after a while.
Fans want to know the answers. Even if they just get small reveals along the way, it’s something to go off, knowing that there will be a big reveal at the end of the season. At least, that’s the way we’d like it to be. Some shows drag on that one question a little too long because they don’t have another to follow it up.
Nancy Drew has the benefit of two mysteries running side by side. Nancy and the Drew Crew need to solve the mystery of who killed Lucy Sable and the mystery of who killed Tiffany Hudson. While they are both connected to the Hudson family in some way, the murderer isn’t the same person.
Right now, there’s one more important than the other. With Carson Drew arrested for the murder of Lucy Sable, Nancy needs to figure out the truth behind that soon. I hope it will only take a couple of more episodes.
With the information from whoever killed Lucy, Nancy can then use it to figure out who killed Tiffany. She’ll have her dad back by her side, especially necessary after that heartfelt episode to wrap up the 2019 episodes.
With a second season now confirmed, we need at least one of the murders to be solved. I’d actually prefer to have both of them solved with the Hudson family drama closed off. Then the focus for the second season can move onto a new mystery or two (it works with two mysteries at the same time). After all, there are plenty of Nancy Drew books to gain inspiration from and they don’t all interconnect.
