Almost Paradise has been dropping clues about Alex Walker’s past throughout the season, and the WGN America series is about to add a major piece to the puzzle with “Uncle Danny.”
As you can probably guess from the title, Alex (Christian Kane) gets an unexpected visit from one of his family members in this episode. That gives viewers a chance to learn more about where Alex came from and how he got to be the person we know.
But this wouldn’t be Almost Paradise if he didn’t get dragged into something, so it’s no surprise that Danny is a con artist and Alex has to save his bacon. That’s certainly going to raise our hero’s blood pressure at least a few points!

Plus, what about Kai Mendoza (Samantha Richelle) and Ernesto Alamares (Arthur Acuña)? What are they going to think about Uncle Danny and what he shows them about Alex?
Hopefully Kai will be a little more understanding, since we just learned she came from a checkered past as well. She committed some crimes herself, so will she have a little more empathy toward Alex for dealing with Danny? Or will Danny make her even crazier than Alex normally makes her?
And it’s entirely possible that Ernesto will have to play mediator or family therapist to keep the peace between everyone else.
This is going to be a crazy episode, but also an insightful one. TV viewers always want to know what makes their heroes tick, and the introduction of a family member or old friend is one of the most common ways that shows flesh out their characters. Almost Paradise, though, will take this typical device and find a way to do something fun and unique with it.
