During the previous episode, Joanna went to court in an attempt to reunite the family. However, a failed drug test on Kodie’s part has led to her being separated from her children, and this time it looks permanent. The problem is she’s sure that she’s sober. Can we trust her? Did someone tamper with the drugs test?

It’s certainly possible. There are a lot of people working against Kodie. We have Mercer, who wants to gain forgiveness but something doesn’t sit right. Then there’s the fact that Kodie’s own family are against her, mostly because she’s got out of the gang and is sober. But does the gang have a connection in law enforcement to cause trouble?
Alternatively, it could be Kodie’s ex-mother-in-law. Marlene certainly put on a show and seems like the type of person who would have the town wrapped around her little finger.
The focus for Burden of Truth Season 3, Episode 3
That’s not something for Joanna to worry about right now on Burden of Truth. Instead, she wants to keep Kodie’s children safe and that means submitting an emergency hearing once more. She wants to challenge who is looking after Kodie’s two children.
Meanwhile, Billy has problems of his own. This case is going to bring him face-to-face with the “last person he wanted to see.” Who is this? Considering he brought up a story about his dad in the previous episode, there’s a chance that it’s something to do with him.
If it is Billy’s dad, what exactly does he have to do with the case? Everyone in this town seems to be mixed up with everyone else’s business, so it’s not all that surprising. However, it is curious.
