When Chicago PD season 13’s fall finale ended, Imani’s life seemed to be on the line. However, the bigger question was whether she would find Julie on Chicago PD season 13 episode 8.

Caution: This post contains SPOILERS from Chicago PD season 13 episode 8.

For the most part, Chicago PD focuses on the Bell family and finding Julie. However, there is a personal arc for Voight that goes back to those photos that he’s been receiving. Who exactly has been sending him these photos, and who wants him to resign?

The search for Julie on Chicago PD season 13 episode 8

Most of the episode was focused on Julie. At the end of Chicago PD season 13 episode 7, Imani got a call from Julie that dropped. The call led to Imani going to the Bell house to find her, but instead, she ended up finding a man chained up.

Initially, Imani found herself trapped in the room, but she’s a smart woman. Able to get the hinges off the gate, Imani was able to radio in for help, and the search for Julie took place. Of course, Devlin attempted to get in the way, wanting a report from the entire Intelligence team, but Voight wasn’t having it. When it comes to children, Voight will always do what is right.

Surveillance footage shows Julie being with Bell in the car when there’s an incident with another man, but when the cops catch up with Bell, Julie is nowhere to be seen. He decides to take them on a bit of a wild goose chase, knowing that they are all playing his game.

When Imani has had enough and beats him, it’s back to square one. Imani, Voight, and Atwater need to figure out where Julie is before it’s too late, especially if he’s buried her in the way that he says he has. Pulling out a map and knowing the timeline, Imani figures it out.

Sure enough, Julie has been left in a storm drain. She’s scared — and somewhat in shock — but she’s alive, and she will be alive. She’s now safe with Bell in custody. It’s a positive ending for Julie’s case, and many victims’ families will now get justice.

Voight figures out who sent the photos on Chicago PD

From early on during Chicago PD season 13, Voight has been getting photos. Trudy Platt couldn’t get a handle on it, but by the end of the episode, we get answers. Did you really think that Voight’s blackmailing of Devlin wouldn’t have consequences?

Yes, he is the man who sent the photos, but it turns out the story is wrong. Voight was never abused by his dad. Instead, Voight loved to get into fights, and his dad was the one to be able to set him on the straight and narrow. Voight has always looked up to his dad, and he holds his memory in high regard.

Devlin knows this deep down, but he isn’t happy with the blackmail from the Chicago PD season 13 premiere. He makes it clear that if Voight doesn’t resign, he will tarnish Voight’s father’s legacy. It doesn’t matter that it’s all a lie, and so, all of Devlin’s cards are on show.

Voight isn’t going to just roll over. He makes it very clear that the badge he carries was his father’s, and he always feels his dad’s spirit with him. In fact, if he didn’t feel his dad’s spirit with him right now, Devlin wouldn’t be breathing. Voight isn’t resigning, and Devlin better watch his back.

Chicago PD airs on Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC.
