What's next for Olympia in Matlock season 2?

A lot went down at the end of Matlock season 1 for Olympia, and now she has a huge decision to make. Which side will she take in Matlock season 2?

At the end of the first season, Olympia learned that Julian was the one to hide the study for Wellbrexa. It was kept in a safe deposit box, and now she has her hands on it. However, Julian turned up at the bank as she found the documents, and he wants her to work with him to protect him from jail.

Could Olympia go against her own morals for Julian in Matlock season 2?

Olympia believes in doing the right thing when it comes to the justice system. While there was a point we wondered if Olympia had hidden the documents, deep down we knew that that wasn’t the type of lawyer she was. While she will work on doing the best for her clients, she won’t break the law for them.

However, now she is stuck. Julian wants to get the document back so that he can destroy it. This will help to keep him out of jail, and Olympia arguably won’t want to see him behind bars. He is still the father of her children, and she won’t want that type of scandal to hit her family.

So, could she put her family first? Could she end up giving the study to Julian, or will she do the right thing?

Does being partner change everything for Olympia in Matlock?

It is odd that Senior continues to overlook Julian for partner, but there could be something more sinister in promoting Olympia to that position. By promoting her to partner, there’s a much bigger stake should there be a scandal in the law firm. If the firm crashes, so does Olympia, and she will struggle to find work at another firm after that.

So, Matlock season 2 could see Olympia having to do things for Senior just to protect her own reputation. Part of that could lead to her having to get rid of the Wellbrexa study to ensure past decisions by the law firm don’t come up.

What will that then mean for Matty’s position at the firm? Right now, she has no idea that Olympia found the study, but how long can Olympia keep that a secret from Matty? Matty knows that the firm is the reason her daughter died, although Matty has a few other issues to deal with in Matlock season 2, such as her grandson’s potential biological father turning up at her door.
