Elsbeth and Tracker episode counts confirmed, and it's great news

CBS has confirmed the episode counts for two of its sophomore shows. How many episodes will we get in Elsbeth and Tracker this year?

The closer we get to fall 2024, the more we hear about our favorite shows. Tracker and Elsbeth may not premiere until October, but we at least know the episode counts.

The two sophomore shows were big hits. Tracker was popular in the views as well as with the audience, while Elsbeth score the fan support—with a better timeslot and schedule, it could have done better in the live ratings as well.

It’s great news that the two shows are moving to the fall, after premiering in the midseason during the 2023–2024 season. That means more episodes, right? Or will the shows end sooner?

Tracker and Elsbeth episode counts confirmed

Well, it’s great news. We were previously told that we were expecting between 18 and 20 episodes for the two shows. Now TVLine has learned that we get more for one of them.

Elsbeth will get 20 episodes, while Tracker will have 22 episodes. Yes, the shows are moving back to getting full season orders, which was starting to decline across the broadcast networks since the pandemic. At first, it was due to the time needed to film because of pandemic protocols, and then the cost of production meant that the quickest way to reduce the costs was to cut the episodes.

Of course, we can’t include the strike year! With the writers and actors on strike throughout the summer of 2023, there wasn’t a chance that we would get full season orders. However, it’s clear that CBS wants to rectify this.

Of course, with the full-season orders, it’s hard to tell why CBS is delaying the return of shows until October 2024. The good news about Tracker is that after the initial decision to hold the show until the end of the month, it’s now going to kick off premiere week for the network.
