Warning: This post contains SPOILERS for Professor T season 4, episode 5.

Professor T season 4, episode 5 opens at a local gallery that is vandalized and splashed with paint by a group called PBD, or Pale Blue Dot, a climate change activist group.  Later, the gallery’s owner, Nolan DeMarco, is hit with paint while walking home and has an allergic reaction, and dies. The Professor notices there was a strong smell of acetone, a paint thinner, at the crime scene. He thinks he was murdered.

One of the original PBD members, Dee, died during a protest. Nolan DeMarco was an undercover cop at the time and worked as a police mole under DS Milton Droy, reporting on the group. DC Highsmith goes to see Dee’s mother, who also fostered other children when Dee was growing up. A girl named Jilian was her last foster child.

Chloe goes to see Milton Droy, who says DeMarco was fired from the force due to a petty theft charge. Droy is packing up his office and says he is two days away from retiring to Annaba, which is in Algeria. The team realizes Annaba does not have an extradition agreement with the UK.

Dr. Goldberg meets with her mentor again and discusses Jasper, and admits she’s having boundary issues with him, and her mentor suggests Dr. Goldberg has feelings for him. Dr. Goldberg adamantly denies it.

Ms. Snares meets Leyton, the scientist who was fired from the university when he said the Warrior Gene, which had a known link to aggression, should give governments the right to abort would-be criminals. He regretted it, but felt it was due to his brother, who was murdered when he was 16.

The team learns that a woman named Jill Finch was arrested during a protest rally as part of the PBD. She admits to throwing the paint on DeMarco the night he died because he turned his back on what they stood for, but she denied knowing Nolan had an allergy to it.

Jill said Droy wanted DeMarco dead because, during his time undercover, DeMarco slept with Droy’s daughter and got her pregnant. His daughter fell apart when he left and was psychiatrically hospitalized. Droy, who knew of DeMarco's allergy to acetone, collaborated with Jill to kill him.

Dr. Goldberg meets Jasper for one final session, stating he’ll benefit from a new therapist. He shows her that he’s snipped off more fingertips from his gloves because his drum teacher encouraged it, and he says he already benefited from her lessons. Dr. Goldberg doesn't seem happy about it.

Professor T airs on Sundays at 8/7c on PBS.
