4 TV crime dramas to watch tonight (and 2 to skip)

Plenty of shows are back on the air tonight, Tuesday, March 11. Here are the ones you can't afford to miss.
CBS Original Series FBI: MOST WANTED.

Tuesday nights are big nights for crime dramas, but we can’t possibly watch everything. We need to pick the shows that we’ll watch live and the ones that we’ll skip for the night and watch another day. Well, we’re here to make it easier for you.

After pre-empting so much last week, the networks are back to normal on Tuesday, March 11. That means there are six crime dramas airing across the networks, and you need to choose between them. There are three hours of primetime, and if you’re like me, you’ll stay up and watch something else straight after. That just leaves two to skip for another night.

What to watch: Will Trent

We start with a series on ABC. Will Trent season 3, episode 9 will see the GBI tackle a case of a murdered rapper. This brings the added pressure of the press and the fans looking for answers, so the GBI will have their work cut out for them.

On top of that, Atlanta PD is heading off to a swingers club. There is far more to this club than it initially seems, but what exactly is the case that the APD is investigating?

Check out the promo for Will Trent season 3, episode 9:

Will Trent airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC.

What to skip: FBI

We already know that FBI is renewed for season 8, so there isn’t as much of a need to watch this series live. The team will need to deal with a situation on board a moving train, which certainly adds more problems to an already difficult situation. OA is on that train with his girlfriend, and he knows if it gets out that he’s a fed, it will cause issues for the two of them.

Maggie isn’t going to let OA down, though. She knows that OA is in direct danger, and now she wants to find out where the train is going to be able to save him. It looks like someone has completely hijacked the train, changing the direction of travel.

FBI airs on Tuesdays at 8/7c on CBS, but you can catch up easily the following day on Paramount+.

What to watch: FBI: International

While FBI: International is one of the canceled CBS shows of this year, that doesn’t mean we should give up on it. This is a series to check out live, as it reminds CBS that we need more shows like this.

The episode itself focuses on a group of young Americans being killed in an apartment in Venice, and it looks like a targeted hit. Amanda shares that a young woman likely knew something that got her killed, and now it will be up to the Fly Team to find out what that was. Mitchell does not like younger people being targets.

FBI: International airs on Tuesdays at 9/8c on CBS.

What to skip: The Rookie

While this is going to be a big episode, there is just too much on TV on a Tuesday night. Something that needs to wait until tomorrow will be The Rookie season 7, episode 9.

Of course, you’ll want to watch it if you’re a Nyla Harper fan. She’s going to be the main suspect when her partner James is hit in an attack, especially when it turns out that the motive could have been jealousy. Nyla may have found out that James kissed someone else, and Nolan is the one who figures this out.

The Rookie airs on Tuesdays at 9/8c, but is also available on Hulu the following day to watch.

What to watch: FBI: Most Wanted

Another must-watch is the fellow canceled FBI series. FBI: Most Wanted season 6, episode 14 marks the 100th episode, which immediately makes it worth watching! We want to capture these milestone moments live.

Hana and Ethan are stuck in a VA Hospital when it is taken hostage by an enraged veteran. She will need to put in a call to her Fugitive Task Force to get them to step in and help. As one of just two OG members, will the 100th episode really put Hana’s life on the line? That’s what we’re worried about.

FBI: Most Wanted airs on Tuesdays at 10/9c on CBS.

What to watch: The Irrational

Finally, it’s all about NBC’s crime drama that ends the night, The Irrational. This series is on the bubble, and it is more at risk of being canceled than The Rookie, so you’ll want to watch it tonight if you can. This is probably the one to watch right away and then put FBI: Most Wanted on afterward (because you can always record it).

A pair of astronauts are trapped in space, and there needs to be a mission to get them back. What if the pair sent out to rescue the trapped astronauts aren’t the best choice? That’s something Alec needs to figure out, as he’s pulled in to evaluate the two.

The Irrational airs on Tuesdays at 10/9c on NBC.
