Nancy Drew: Did Ryan Hudson kill Lucy Sables?

Nancy Drew is hinting at the idea of Ryan Hudson killing Lucy Sables. Is that really the case? It seems a little too obvious, don’t you think?

After dealing with the possession of George, Nancy figured there was a message Lucy Sables was trying to pass onto her. That took her to the location of her old school, where students in 1999 buried a time capsule. In it was a DVD that included Lucy talking to a certain student, Ryan Hudson. Did he have something to do with Lucy’s death in Nancy Drew?

It seems a little too obvious that Ryan was the one to kill Lucy. That’s especially the case when it seems more and more likely that Ryan had something to do with Tiffany’s death. Everything seems to be pointing to him, mainly the fact that he Tiffany to die of natural causes to get her money to get himself out of financial trouble.

But now we seem to get a connection between Lucy and Ryan. That shouldn’t be all that surprising. This is a small town, as Bess soon found out when she moved there. Everyone knows everyone, so of course, Ryan was going to know Lucy in school.

The question is why Lucy is so focused on Ryan right now. She pointed Nancy in the direction of the time capsule and kept forcing the DVD to show Lucy and Ryan talking to each other. It’s a clue of some sort, but is it a message that Ryan killed Lucy? That would be the obvious message, right?

It seems a little too obvious for Nancy Drew. The series has already given us some of the obvious hints only to deliver twists to keep the mystery going. So, this is likely another one of those hints.

I don’t think Ryan killed Lucy. So, what is the connection?

Does he know the truth?

While I don’t think Ryan killed Lucy, I do have a feeling that he was involved in her death. I also have a feeling that Nancy’s parents and many other adults were involved in Lucy’s death.

Part of me thinks that it’s going to turn out that Lucy was accidentally killed, but others were involved in that. I get this sense that it will turn out that Lucy blames everyone in the town for her murder and wants them dead, but that they weren’t directly responsible. However, they feared that they would go down for murder and they decided to cover up her death instead.

Even if Ryan wasn’t directly involved, I feel like he knows something. There’s got to be a reason Ryan turned to Carson when he needed a lawyer. He knew he could trust Carson because they’ve held each other’s secrets in the past.
