High Potential season 2 looks like it will give fans a delightful mix of humor, drama, and some scary scenarios. The first season introduced us to Morgan, a single mom with a genius-level IQ and the ability to remember bizarre facts. Her mind works like no one else's, so she was brought in as a consultant for the LAPD Major Crimes Unit.
Morgan's partner, Karadec, was skeptical at first, but grew to appreciate her talents. Her sarcastic wit and scatter-shot approach? Not so much.
During the season 1 finale, Morgan bumped into a stranger in the grocery store parking lot. He is the Game Master, who takes sadistic pleasure in kidnapping his victims, putting them in life-threatening situations, and sending the police clues to their location.
It is clear that he has selected Morgan as the next victim to play his game. However, we all know that Morgan isn't going to take chances and endanger her three children.
The High Potential season 2 trailer gives us some insight into Morgan's state of mind
The trailer kicks off with Morgan announcing that it is her first day back at work on a full-time basis. Meanwhile, Morgan gets a clue and knows that it is from the Game Master.
While Morgan is worried that he hasn’t been apprehended yet, Karadec reassures Morgan that soon, they will have the kidnapper in custody. And it seems that Morgan is becoming more and more frightened, as the trailer shows her imagining him standing behind her. “That man is a danger to my children. I’m never going to be able to forget his face,” Morgan stated. Now, solving this case is even more personal for the Major Case Unit.
When Morgan finally sees the Game Master again, face-to-face, she has a warning for him. “You’ve proven that you can get to me and my children, and I will protect them," she said. I don't think that her threat should be taken lightly. After all, Morgan is a mama bear.
Meanwhile, Karadec revealed that Roman is, indeed, among the living. Ava wrestled with her feelings about why her father never returned to his family. However, Morgan is choosing to believe that Roman didn’t walk out on them. Later, Daphne and Oz reported that they had found Roman as they knocked on a door.
At the conclusion of the High Potential Season 2 trailer, Morgan met Captain Nick Wagner. Well, after she made fun of his mustache. Just another quirky complication in Morgan's life.
High Potential season 2 will return on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 10/9c on ABC.
