With Valentine’s Day upon us, there are a few crime show couples we want to see finally happen!
For decades, crime TV shows have long rested on a main pair with a “will they or won’t they” pseudo-romance. Moonlighting and Castle are famous examples, as fans love to ship some of these couples. Some series do slump when they pay off on that romance, while others thrive and only get better.
Currently, there are quite a few TV shows with pairings that look, to everyone but the actual couple, like romances! They are wonderful on screen, amazing chemistry between the actors, and would make a good romance. These are ten current TV crime show pairings fans would love to see finally become official!

Morgan and Karadec from High Potential
There’s been a development on High Potential in how genius crime solver Morgan (Kaitlin Olson) may have realized she has feelings for police detective partner Adam Karadec (Daniel Sunjata). That comes after Adam has started dating his former flame, Lucia, again. A relationship between them would be tricky, as Morgan’s unique mindset makes it difficult to maintain a steady life, and her freewheeling ways would clash with the straight-laced Karadec.
Still, the pair get along wonderfully, each ready to help the other and to respect the other highly within the partnership. That Karadec is now joining Morgan’s unique mental wavelength is overdue and adds to their appeal. Hopefully, things work out, as there is so much potential in these partners hooking up.

Max and Ellis on Wild Cards
Since the beginning of the CW crime show, the chemistry between con artist Max (Vanessa Morgan) and cop Ellis (Giacomo Gianniotti) has been blistering. Obviously, there’s mistrust given a cop can’t fully back an admitted criminal and Max hasn’t helped her case with various games and keeping Ellis in the dark. Still, the pair has overcome that to bond further.
Right now, the series is pushing a classic turn as Max has realized she wants to date Ellis, only to find he now has a steady girlfriend. Still, their fantastic pairing is the reason the show is a success and hopefully, the pair is able to play their cards right for a romance.

Celina and Miles on The Rookie
A highlight of The Rookie season 8 has been the growing bond between cops Celina (Lisseth Chavez) and Miles (Deric Augustine). The pair have become roommates and connect on their experiences learning the ropes as police officers. Celina does have a boyfriend, but he’s a musician touring overseas, and a recent episode had him concerned about how well Celina and Miles got along while solving a case.
It looks like this could be a case where practically everyone else sees the pair as a good couple, while Celina and Miles themselves are in denial. If they can overcome those blinders, this could become The Rookie’s next hot romance on a show already filled with them.

Benson and Stabler on Law & Order: SVU
Honestly, what are the Law & Order: SVU writers waiting for? For a long while, Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) couldn’t be together as Stabler was married. However, with his wife long dead and the pair still working together on cases, their obvious feelings from two decades as partners are rising to the surface.
It’s obvious to anyone watching the pair that they want to be together, and only their mutual stubbornness is keeping them apart. It’s past time SVU just pulled the trigger to finally hook up our favorite L&O cops and let the decades-long dance end.

Knight and Palmer on NCIS
This is different from other couples on this list as the pair was already together. Yet NCIS hasn’t been the same since Jessica Knight (Katrina Law) and Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen) broke up. It was a surprise seeing the tough agent and the nerdy medical examiner hook up in the first place, but they blossomed into a wonderful relationship. Each supported the other and it was downright adorable to watch together.
They still work together, and it’s obvious the love between them remains. Their differing personalities and jobs remain a block and the hint of Jessica's interest in Torres. But NCIS fans clearly prefer the pair back together, as this was one of the best couples in the show and deserves a second chance.

Bishop and Torres on NCIS
Speaking of NCIS couples, the return of Eleanor Bishop (Emily Wickersham) gives fans hope that we may finally see her and Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) get together. There was always a nice connection between the pair that grew after Bishop got divorced. In fact, the last time we saw Eleanor before she headed on a CIA mission, it was locking lips with Torres.
We don’t know how Bishop returns and the preview images hint that she may have an ulterior motive for abducting Nick for some reason. Hopefully, it works out with Bishop perhaps not coming back full-time, but it’d be fantastic if she and Torres got some closure to their long-standing attraction.

Mackey and JD on NCIS: Sydney
NCIS: Sydney has enjoyed showcasing the strong partnership between Michelle Mackey (Olivia Swann) and JD Dempsey (Todd Lasance). It’s an interesting dynamic as Mackey is pretty much all business, yet with some light humor, while JD is more laid-back unless you threaten his family. The pair have gone from adversaries to strong allies with a bit of flirting too.
In a twist, it’s hinted that JD is the one who’d be interested in taking it further while Mackey is too focused on the job. It’s also hinted that she’s been burned by love before and is wary of a new relationship. Still, it’d be enjoyable to see the two come together for another U.S./Australia connection that makes this spinoff so fun.

Bex and Shane on The Hunting Party
So far, the relationship in the NBC series between Melissa Roxburgh’s Bex and Josh McKenzie’s Shane has been more of a sibling dynamic. Yet as The Hunting Party season 2 has continued, it’s obvious the pair are bonding on a larger level. They have the challenge of their jobs hunting deadly fugitives and the mystery of their pasts. There’s also Bex mourning her former partner, Oliver.
Yet the pair are clearly shown to have a fine chemistry, and the showrunner has even said a possible romance is in the cards. It’s time to have that happen, as both these souls are hunting for a kindred spirit and would make a fine couple.

Colter and Billie on Tracker
The reason why Colter Shaw and freelance frenemy hunter Billie should hook up is obvious. The two always work great together, sometimes rivals, but are able to back each other up if need be. They have a wonderful banter, neither fully trusting the other, yet the hints they’d be willing to make the jump to dating if they could.
Of course, the real reason why this would be great is that Justin Hartley and Sofia Pernas are married in real life. That’s why they work so well together on screen and it’s frankly amazing the show hasn’t paired their characters up yet. That should happen eventually, as wasting this real-life couple’s romance is a crime.

Mickey and Boone on Sheriff Country
As soon as Sheriff Country premiered, fans were shipping tough sheriff Mickey (Morena Baccarin) and her deputy Boone (Matt Lauria). They seemed perfect for each other, with their clashes over procedure and Mickey's refusal to let Boone transfer out. Then the show threw a wrinkle by introducing Boone’s wife.
As it turned out, it’s not a real romance as Boone only married his late partner’s widow so she and her son could get benefits. That’s been settled, which paves the way for Mickey and Boone getting together. There is the concern of a sheriff sleeping with her deputy, yet being the boss would give Mickey some sway. Seeing the pair on screen together is hotter than most of Edgewater’s constant fires, so we can hope this really happens.
We're also seeing a potential romance between Mickey and her ex, Travis, and Boone and Nora have admitted they have feelings for each other. That could certainly throw a spanner in the works.
