CBS has some big decisions to make for various TV shows. One of those is freshman drama FBI: Most Wanted. Will the FBI spin-off be canceled or renewed?

The broadcast networks still have some big decisions to make. For CBS, the majority of shows remain with undecided fates. That includes the freshman drama, FBI: Most Wanted. Will CBS cancel or renew the FBI spin-off?

There are a number of factors that networks consider when looking at canceling or renewing shows. One of the biggest factors for CBS remains the live TV ratings, figures that we can get access to. There’s some good news for FBI: Most Wanted fans.

A strong start to the series

While not as great as NCIS and FBI, the Tuesday night TV crime drama still got off to a good start. And the ratings quickly stabilized, helping to make a decision on the show’s future relatively easy.

FBI: Most Wanted current sits in eighth out of all 24 scripted shows on CBS in the demo. When we look at the audience average, the show sits in seventh.

If we consider the unscripted shows, there’s still a lot of positivity. There are only three unscripted shows that continue to perform better than the FBI spin-off (and the majority of scripted shows). They are Survivor (both spring and fall) and 60 Minutes.

With all that in mind, it wouldn’t make sense for CBS to cancel the Julian McMahon-led series. When we add in the fact that it’s the third most popular drama and it’s performing better than NCIS: New Orleans in the timeslot, there are a lot of reasons to keep the series.

“Prophet” – A cult leader and his most trusted followers go on the run after he orders the murder of his own family. As Jess and the team race to find them, they uncover the self-proclaimed prophet’s conman past, on FBI: MOST WANTED, Tuesday, Feb. 18 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. But Hawaii Five-0 is ending

One of the big issues with looking at the live ratings is that you’ll notice Hawaii Five-0 was in a great position, especially considering the audience. Yet, the Friday night drama is ending after its 10th season.

I don’t think the show has been canceled by the network. It sounds like the series is wrapping things up on its own accord. And in a way, that’s not a bad thing. Eventually, all great things must come to an end. It’s a bittersweet fact.

FBI: Most Wanted is only in its baby stages. I doubt we’ve seen the last of it with just one season.
